🖋️ Thoughts from Christine’s Desk

Since launching TechWalk, I’ve gained about 3000 new connections/followers. I appreciate every single connection for multiple reasons. My network engages with my content and helps me to spread the word about events and Co-Hosts. This means more and more people learn about new ways of networking and relationship-building in a healthy and authentic environment. If I ask a question, I typically get an answer. Also, my conversion rates have shot way up. I used to have to ask 100 people to be a TechWalk guest speaker before I would get a yes, now I only have to ask about 10. It’s a miracle really. But there are still hiccups.

In prepping for the launch of our new Coffee and Coaches program, I sent out personalized messages to career coaches within my network inviting them to participate in this special event. I did my best pitch. Laid out all the benefits. Was quite proud of myself.

I’ll admit, response #1 sort of hurt my feelings. For an entire hour! Until response #2 came in. And then I had a lil’chuckle. In the game of life, and relationships and jobs, there are going to be some wins and some losses. If I had known response #2 was en route, I would have spent less time feeling ick about response #1. But the thing is, in some ways I did know. My past performance should have been a really great indicator. Things are only getting better. I say all this to say, if you are putting in consistent effort to improve your relationships, professional or otherwise, and you take an initial loss, keep going, your email #2 or #3 or #4 is en route. And if you would like to have a conversation about giving your approach to networking a makeover to improve the win/loss ratio, I’m happy to help https://calendly.com/christine_farrier_rosemin/30minutes
