👋 Hello to our new newsletter readers! I’m Cynthia Widjaja - learning and development professional, data science nerd, digital marketing enthusiast, TechWalk Silicon Valley Chapter community member, and newsletter editor. I’d love your help with a few things:

  • What a week for TechWalk! We packed in five walks across five cities, each buzzing with energy and connection. Each walk had its own spark ✨: from deep dives into industry insights to serendipitous chats that might launch the next big idea. To keep the momentum going, we’d love your help: share TechWalk with a friend, especially if they live near one of our upcoming walks. Here’s what happened last week.

    • Silicon Valley (9/17): Brought by Chapter Director Rupa Bhagwat and co-hosted by Alpika Singh, Senior Technical Marketing Manager at Rubrik, the walk sparked conversations on leadership, growth, and making bold moves in tech.

    • Boston (9/18): Hosted by Varshitha Manjunath, who brought fresh energy to the East Coast chapter.

    • NYC (9/19): Co-hosted by Ben Bartolone and Christine Farrier Rosemin, this walk drew an incredible mix of builders and dreamers.

    • Vancouver (9/19): Our first-ever TechWalk in Vancouver, co-hosted by Jen McGavin and Hassan Murad, Co-Founder & CEO of Intuitive AI. Hassan, a renowned TEDx speaker featured in Forbes as one of the Top 5 Entrepreneurs on the Rise in AI, shared his perspective on building a more sustainable future through AI.

    • Bangalore (9/20): Brought to life by Chapter Directors Anukriti Singh and Chirag Srivastava, and co-hosted by Abdul Gaffar Khan, Chapter Lead at The AI Collective. Members strolled Sri Chamarajendra Park, Bengaluru, Karnataka while swapping insights on tech, AI, and community.

    • Did you attend a TechWalk in the past few weeks? Who did you you meet? Tag them in this post.

  • TechWalk Founder Christine Farrier Rosemin also leads the Partner Marketing function at Rho, the all-in-one business banking platform has launched another community for folks interested in the intersection of Accounting and AI. Whether you’re a Big 4 partner, recent computer science college drop-out building the next tax agentic AI, or someone in between, make time to join an upcoming session to form connections with the people working and innovating in the space.

  • We’re opening up a Newsletter Intern role at TechWalk! If you’re motivated, curious, and looking to build real-world experience in writing and digital marketing, join us as we grow from 10K to 20K subscribers. It’s part-time, remote, unpaid (10–15 hrs/week), and a chance to be part of our community’s growth story. Interested? Reach out at [email protected].

From Walk to Work: How a Chance Conversation at TechWalk Changed Shreyas’ Career Path

Sometimes the best opportunities don’t come from résumés or job boards. They come from a walk, a chat, a connection.

That’s exactly what happened for Shreyas Mohite, who first joined TechWalk after hearing about it from a friend, Vedant Bhoj. At one of the walks, he struck up a conversation with another walker, Elena Pronina. That casual chat turned into a referral, and soon, Shreyas landed an internship role at a health startup Serapath Integrative AI.

His story is simple but powerful: show up, talk to people, and watch what unfolds.

It’s also a reminder of what makes TechWalk different. We’re not just walking, we’re creating space for possibility. Every step you take here could be the start of something bigger.

✨ TechWalk Moments: The Magic of a Bump-In

One of the best parts of TechWalk is how connections happen when you least expect them. Maybe it’s while catching your breath on a hill, or when someone cracks a joke about the weather. Suddenly, you’re deep in conversation with someone who could change the course of your career or just brighten your week.

Most of you said you’d love to meet a work connection that sparks a new opportunity 💼. Others shared hopes of crossing paths with a future co-founder 🤝, a mentor with the perfect advice 💡, or someone with a story that blows your mind 🎤.
