💰 Hi from TechWalk: Cash, Coffee or a Candle? The new cost of connecting.

Would you? Should you? Charge for introductions to your network?

Welcome to the weekly and as yet un-named newsletter from TechWalk. We are a networking community for Tech and SaaS professionals that offers weekly walks hosted by industry experts and interesting individuals.

I wish I could find the post, but a few weeks ago a woman on Linkedin shared that requests for introductions to her network would be granted in exchange for a gifted coffee or candle, two of her favorite things. Her reasoning - establishing a value for facilitated access to her connections removes any awkwardness from the transaction. Nobody has to pretend to be catching up, no need to mention the phrase “Gosh, it’s been so long”, the requestor can simply get down to the business of what they really want or need, building a bridge between two nodes in a system. But we aren’t nodes right? Or are we? What are your thoughts? Share in the poll below or on this Linkedin post

Would you feel comfortable naming a price for intros to your Linkedin connections?

#SFTechWeek & #LATechWeek Going Live

Get ready for a wave of SF and LA hashtags. Tomorrow (9/4) the calendars for SF TechWeek and LA TechWeek are going live and there will be a coordinated rush of announcements from approved event organizers. Our recommendation - sign up for events that look interesting ASAP. Events do sell out / reach capacity and tryintg to navigate a barrage of waitlist admissions makes planning an efficient itinerary very challenging.

Interested in getting your brand in front of close to 1500 walk attendees? The cost for sponsorship is $2000 (very demure, very mindful 😀 🫠 ) and we are limiting our sponsorships to 3 brands per walk. Simply reply to this email to get more details.

We are also looking for Co-Hosts for both walks. Are you or someone you know a founder, investor, senior leader or subject matter expert in the Tech and SaaS space who is open to hundreds of new Linkedin connections and sharing their expertise with the TechWalk community? We’re looking for a max of 12 guest speakers to share center stage, aka the park paths during our events. Introverts encouraged to apply. If I can do it, so can you! Reply to this email to let us know you are interested.
