✈️ Hi from TechWalk: Will we see you in Cali this week? Or NY?

🎵 We're going going back back to Cali Cali! 🎵

Welcome to the weekly and as yet un-named newsletter from TechWalk. We are a networking community for Tech and SaaS professionals that offers weekly walks hosted by industry experts and interesting individuals.

Here’s our California Lineup!

Makes sense that people often assume that TechWalk was launched on the West Coast, specifically in California, the birthplace of Salesforce, Google, Apple, Facebook, Uber, eBay, Twitter, Neflix…the list goes on and on. But while NY will always be our first love, we decided it was time to squash the beef and give the people what they’ve been asking for; an opportunity to experience the magic of a TechWalk in a Pacific time zone. We are kicking off a San Francisco Chapter information session on Tuesday 4/16. Here’s the lineup:
* Meet at Bi-Rite Creamery
* Take a few quick loops in Dolores Park
* Head to Casements Bar for refreshment and an information session

TechWalk Silicon Valley made a liar out of me. Here are the things I told Rupa Baghwat in the 8 weeks leading up to launch.

🌳 It's going to start slow
🌳 Don't worry if registrations are low at first
🌳 These things take time
🌳 TechWalk NYC started with 2 people - we can be proud of 2 in Mountain View 😂

Welp, we've got almost people registered for this Wednesday (4/17) and I am flabbergasted.

Here are some of the organizations represented: Hustle Fund, Northwestern University, Tesla, Envoy, Narratus Group, Stanford University, Albertsons Companies, WYND, Happiest Community, Wisflux Tech Labs, Prime Therapeutics, Devicethread Inc., Stamps.com, Affirm, Atsign, Outlier Ventures, Equity X, Inc., Payactiv, MAKAI.CARE, OWOW, and Vespucci Analytics.

Tell somebody to tell somebody.

TechWalk 4/17 Announcements

This week we are looking forward to our very first SPONSORED TechWalk. Join us a bit earlier this week (1:00 PM) to enjoy a complimentary beverage and snack at Le Pain Quotidien in Columbus Circle while getting to know our sponsor Mark Goloboy, Fractional CMO and Founder of Market Growth Consultants

Meet Mark in his own words “I’m a Fractional CMO who helps companies grow faster. My company, Market Growth Consulting, began working with startups, and now also helps private, PE backed, and later-stage companies. I fill a CMO or Demand Generation leadership gap, and help companies build their long-term strategy, team, and systems. I assemble a time of experts who help deliver a wide variety of marketing and sales help for my clients.” In addition, here are some of the topics Mark is up for discussing before, during or after the walk “Career Topics: Account Based Marketing, Marketing Analytics, Demand Generation, and AI Transformation. Personal Topics: Skiing, Hiking, and Boston (I live there).”

Thank you Mark for your support of TechWalk!

I’ve got serious FOMO about missing this week’s NY walk, but I’m supremely grateful that our sponsors and Co-Hosts will be in such great hands with Clara Fletcher, one of TechWalk’s Strategic Advisors and Tosca Marleen, who is leading our brand partnership efforts. Please help them in ensuring that our Co-Hosts are fully engaged throughout the entire walk. Here are some conversation starters to prepare you for the day.

  • Doug Rogers, Product & GTM Advisor, Buena Onda Labs; Program Director, FoundersBoost NYC - wants to chat about the things he is really good at: digital product strategy, brewing coffee at home, and helping founders find their first customers. He also offers up this bit of advice for professional success: “ It’s not just what you know or who you know, it’s how you follow up.  Don’t be the person who says they will email and never does (but also know when to move on).”

  • Alex Koshykov, COO, BeKey, has attended multiple TechWalks and can easily guide you along our route as you all discuss: digital health and wellness, building products for startups, what it's like to be a non-technical founder, talking about Ukraine, of course, without getting into politics. And here’s some networking advice from Alex - "Listen! And also always think about how you can help the other person, whether it's a warm intro, sharing experiences, or just giving advice. Thanks to my network, I raised thousands of dollars to help Ukrainians and the Ukrainian Army."

  • And last but certainly not least - Samiah Fatimah, M&A Advisor, The NYBB Group - is ready to discuss her career journey from launching the Harvard Innovation Lab to her time at Goldman Sachs to her various Chief of Staff roles
